The
Yale Polo and Equestrian Center is located in the Armory, on Central
Avenue in between the intramural fields and the softball field.The Armory
is one of the Athletic Department's greatest secrets. The Armory was
built in 1916 as a U.S. cavalry training center and
covers approximately 61,000 sq. feet of space.
The
center consists of a stable with 62
stalls and hayloft, a large 100' X 220' indoor
arena (for inclement weather) with seating for 100, turn-out paddocks,
outdoor ring, jump course, polo fields and heated lounge.
