PRINCETON, N.J. - The Ivy League has released its list of student-athletes selected for 2012-13 Academic All-Ivy honors in its fall sports today and 10 Bulldogs were honored. Each was a starter or key reserve on an officially recognized varsity team with 3.0 or better cumulative grade point averages.
Here are the Yale selections:
Nick Alers, Jr., Men's Soccer,
Economics/Political Science (San Jose, Costa Rica)
Honorable mention All-Ivy; started all 42 games he appeared in;
anchors Yale's defense.
Collin Bibb, Sr., Football,
Political Science (San Antonio)
Honorable mention All-Ivy; led team with three interceptions and
48 solo tackles.
McHaney Carter, Jr., Women's
Volleyball, Ethics, Politics, and Economics (Southlake,
Texas)
Ranked second on team in blocks per set with 0.71 average; helped
Bulldogs to perfect 14-0 Ivy record and appearance in the 2012 NCAA
Tournament.
Chris Dooley, Sr., Football,
Economics (Massapequa, N.Y.)
Tied for the team lead with 3.5 sacks; finished with 41 total
tackles.
Caitlin Hudson, Sr., Women's
Cross Country, History (Bronxville, N.Y.)
Yale's fourth finisher at the 2012 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross
Country Championship and 34th overall.
Mary Kubiuk, Sr., Women's
Soccer, Psychology (Barrington, Ill.)
Tied for second on the team with three goals; had one game-winning
goal; appeared in 15 games.
Torrey Leroy, Sr., Women's
Soccer, Sociology (West Hartford, Conn.)
Second-team All-Ivy selection; anchored a defense that posted five
shutouts.
Kevin Lunn, Sr., Men's Cross
Country, Humanities (Santa Barbara, Calif.)
Team captain; finished fourth in dual race with Harvard; team's
third finisher at the 2012 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country
Championship.
Will McHale, Sr., Football,
Political Science (Old Greenwich, Conn.)
Led the team with 78 total tackles and had 1.5 sacks.
Emily Schuckert, Jr., Field
Hockey, Environmental Sciences (Wilmington, Del.)
Appeared in all 17 games; led the team with six
assists.
