Jay Cordone started at Yale University in 2005 and was promoted to the Head Athletic Trainer in the summer of 2016. During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Cordone has worked with football, the Ivy League champion men’s lacrosse and women’s volleyball teams, softball, men and women’s swimming and diving.
The 2017 season will mark his ninth working with the Yale football team and third with men’s lacrosse. Additionally, he oversees all the day-to-day operations of the athletic training department.
He has been an approved clinical instructor for the Quinnipiac University undergraduate athletic training program since 2006 overseeing student interns and teaching clinical curriculum. Cordone has also had experience working as a summer intern with the NFL Buffalo Bills.
A native of Yorktown Hts, N.Y., Cordone attended Quinnipiac University, graduating with honors in 2005 with a degree in sports medicine/athletic training. He joined the Bulldogs in August of 2005 as an athletic training intern.
