No. 4 Bulldogs Prepare for Fleet Racing Regattas
Though much of the spring focuses on team racing, the Bulldogs will polish their fleet racing skills this weekend at the Truxtun Umstead Regatta hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and the Veitor Trophy hosted by Salve Regina in Newport, R.I.

No. 2 Bulldogs Finish Sixth at St. Mary’s Team Race Intersectional
Sometimes, sailboat racing features start-to-finish excitement. Other times, well, it requires patience. This weekend’s St. Mary’s Team Race Intersectional tested the Bulldogs and the other nine teams present with ephemeral breezes. Despite tireless efforts, the race committee could only complete one round-robin, and the Bulldogs finished in sixth place with a 4-5 record.

No. 2 Bulldogs Ramping Up for St. Mary’s Team Race
The Bulldogs are winding down a successful week of practice here and will travel this weekend to St. Mary’s City, Md., for the St. Mary’s Team Race. Charleston has shown the Bulldogs a variety of conditions, from glassy calm, to a light drizzle, gusty breezes and short chop. The team has focused mainly on team racing, the style of racing it will encounter throughout much of the rest of the spring.

No. 2 Bulldogs Finish Fourth at Graham Hall Team Race
After a long off-season and two weeks of out-of-district competition, college sailing hit its stride this weekend. The Bulldogs sent teams to an intersectional team race at the U.S. Naval Academy as well as the Thames River Team Race, hosted by Connecticut College. Yale finished fourth at Navy and sixth at Connecticut College.

No. 2 Bulldogs’ Spring Season Reaches Full Strength
After a long offseason and two warm-up regattas, the Bulldogs will hit their racing stride this weekend, competing at the Thames River Team Race and Graham Hall Team Race. The weekend is the beginning of Yale's spring recess, and the Bulldogs will use their time off to travel to Charleston, S.C., to train.

No. 2 Bulldogs Take Second at Tom Noble Team Race
The Bulldogs traveled out of district this weekend to race at the Tom Noble Team Race, finishing second. The eight-team regatta, sailed on the Chester River near the Chesapeake Bay, featured steady breezes on flat water. Though much of the northeast fought a blizzard through most of the weekend, the Bulldogs met sunny conditions.

No. 2 Bulldogs Look to Continue Momentum
The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend, team racing at the Tom Noble Team Race hosted by Washington College. The regatta, held on the Chester River in Chestertown, Md., will give the team another opportunity to tune up before the NEISA season begins in one week. Last weekend, the Bulldogs took home the victory at the Mendelblatt Team Race hosted by Eckerd College and USF.

No. 2 Bulldogs Win Mendelblatt Team Race
The Bulldogs love Florida. For the fourth year in a row, Yale sailors have finished first at the opening event of the season, the Mendelblatt Team Race. The Bulldogs cruised to victory Sunday with a 7-0 record at the regatta hosted by the University of South Florida.

No. 2 Bulldogs Kick Season Off at Mendelblatt Team Race
After a long winter, the Bulldogs will leave snowy New England for warmer weather and the Frank Mendelblatt Team Race hosted by the University of South Florida and Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Mendelblatt Team Race will be the first event of the spring season for the sailors, providing an early opportunity to test strategies and boatspeed.

Joe Morris Elected Co-Ed Sailing Captain
Sophomore Joe Morris was elected captain of the co-ed sailing team after voting at the Ray Tompkins House. Morris has been a leader on the team since he came to Yale, establishing himself as the B-division skipper to outgoing senior captain Thomas Barrows.

No. 1 Bulldogs Finish Fourth at ACCs
The Bulldogs finished fourth at the season-ending Atlantic Coast Championships, held this weekend at Harvard. The event brought together the top teams from each of the three eastern regions, and was an opportunity for Yale to size up next spring’s competition.

Barrows Takes Third At Singlehanded Nationals
No. 1 Bulldogs sailor Thomas Barrows sailed to a strong third-place finish at the 2009 ICSA men’s singlehanded national championship this weekend in Corpus Christi, Tex. Despite Corpus Christi’s distinction as the windiest coastal city in North America, the weekend was fraught with a difficult combination of light breezes and large, choppy waves.

Barrows Heads To Men’s Singlehanded National Championship
Senior Thomas Barrows will represent the No. 1 Bulldogs this weekend at the ICSA Men’s Singlehanded National Championship in Corpus Christi, Tex. Barrows finished fifth in the event, known as the Glen S. Foster Trophy, last year and won the regatta as a sophomore.

No. 1 Bulldogs Win Erwin Schell Trophy
The Bulldogs continued their impressive domination of the fall season with a win this weekend at the 69th Erwin Schell Trophy at MIT. The Bulldogs persevered through wild conditions on Saturday to bring home the victory after a come-from-behind final set. The weather wreaked havoc on the Bulldogs’ other events -- Team Race Series Two by Roger Williams University, the Nickerson Trophy by Boston University and the Providence College Invite.

No. 1 Bulldogs Heading To Boston
The Bulldogs will travel to MIT this weekend to compete in the Schell Trophy. The top seven finishers at the event will earn the right to represent New England at the Atlantic Coast Championships, the premier event of the fall season, in two weeks. Sailors will also travel to Boston University for the Nickerson Trophy, Providence College for an invite event and Roger Williams University for Team Race Series Two.

No. 1 Bulldogs Win Sherman Hoyt Trophy
The Bulldogs proved once again why they are the top-ranked team in the country, winning the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown. Strong winds remained a theme across New England, providing a strong counterpoint to the light winds which prevailed earlier this season. Yale sailors also competed in the Oberg Trophy at MIT and in Southern Series Seven at Yale.

The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend with three events. Sailors will compete in the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown, the Oberg Trophy at MIT and Southern Series Seven at Yale.

No. 1 Bulldogs Take Sixth At Captain Hurst Bowl
The Bulldogs persevered through wet and wild weather as a Nor’easter blasted through New England this weekend. Sailors finished sixth at the Captain Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth, fourth at the Norm Reid Trophy at Boston College and 11th at the Great Herring Pond Open at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

No. 1 Bulldogs Anticipate Busy Weekend
With the fall campaign marching along for the No. 1 Bulldogs, this weekend will represent a test of the team’s depth. Sailors will compete in two different styles of racing at three sites. Sailors will fleet race at the Captain Hurst Bowl at Dartmouth and the Great Herring Pond Open at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. They will also team race at the Norm Reid Trophy Team Race at Boston College.

Barrows Wins Men’s New England Singlehanded Championship
Senior Thomas Barrows won the Men’s New England Singlehanded Championship this weekend at Roger Williams University. Barrows bested 21 competitors in the Laser dinghy to take the New England crown. In double-handed action, the Bulldogs finished second at Southern Series Five hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and fifteenth at the Moody Trophy hosted by the University of Rhode Island.

Barrows and Belling Named NEISA Co-ed Sailors Of The Week
Senior Thomas Barrows and junior Blair Belling were named the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) co-ed sailors of the week for their winning performance at last week’s Danmark Trophy.

No. 1 Bulldogs Look To Maintain Momentum
At the midpoint of the fall season the Bulldogs are looking as strong as ever. With three wins in four weekends of racing, the Bulldogs have momentum on their side as they enter this weekend's racing at the New England Men's Singlehanded Championship at Roger Williams University, the Moody Trophy at University of Rhode Island and the Protest Trophy at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

No. 1 Bulldogs Win Danmark Trophy
This weekend the Bulldogs proved again why they are ranked number one in the country, winning the Danmark Trophy hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The victory was the third for the Bulldogs in four weekends. Sailors also competed at the Smith Trophy at MIT and Southern Series Four at Connecticut College.

Yale Sailors Win U.S. Team Racing Championship
Six Yale sailors -- three undergraduates and three alumni -- combined forces to win the U.S. Team Racing Championship this weekend. The event, known as the George R. Hinman Trophy, was sailed in breezy conditions off the southern coast of Cape Cod.

The fall campaign continues for the No. 1 Bulldogs this weekend, as sailors head to New London, Conn., and Boston for racing action. Elis will attend the Danmark Trophy at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Smith Trophy at MIT and Southern Series Four at Connecticut College.

The No. 1 Bulldogs returned to action this weekend, taking fourth at the Hood Trophy at Tufts and eighth at the Loder Trophy at UNH. Both events were marked by light breezes, but the Elis persevered to post strong results.

The No. 3 Yale Bulldogs won their second regatta in two weeks, capturing the Nevins Trophy at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. Elis also competed at the Hatch Brown Intersectional hosted by MIT and Boston University and Central Series Two at Boston College.

Fresh off their home win at the Harry Anderson Intersectional, the Bulldogs will fan out to three regattas across the Northeast this weekend. Teams will attend the Nevins Trophy at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the Hatch Brown Trophy at MIT, and Central Series Two at Boston College.

No. 3 Bulldogs Win Harry Anderson Intersectional
The Bulldogs pulled off an impressive victory at home this weekend, winning the Harry Anderson Intersectional by 17 points over the University of Vermont. Yale sailors finished first overall in both A and B divisions, a rare feat in college sailing. The win was Yale's first at the event, named after Harry H. Anderson '43, a major force behind the establishment of Yale sailing, since 1991.

No. 3 Bulldogs Primed for Fall Season
The Bulldogs open their season at home this weekend with the Harry Anderson Intersectional. The event will be the team’s first chance to test its speed and strategies and size up this year’s competition. On Yale’s side is momentum -- the team finished second at May’s Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Coed National Championship in San Francisco and won the Fowle Trophy, awarded to the top college sailing team. With this performance fresh in mind, the Yale Bulldogs enter the fall season ranked No. 3 in the nation.
