Bulldogs Named Best Overall Collegiate Team a Second Time
Following the three national championships that took place from May 27-June 6, Yale was awarded the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy for the second year in a row. Nine Bulldogs were also named to the All-American team, more sailors than any other collegiate team this year.

Landy Wins College Sailor of the Year
After the week of national championships concluded yesterday, the ICSA announced the winner of the Everett B. Morris Trophy for the Marlow Ropes College Sailor of the Year. This year, the trophy was awarded to junior captain of the Yale coed sailing team Graham Landy.

Bulldogs Win Fleet Race National Championship

Bulldogs Lead After Day One of Fleet Race Nationals
The Yale coed sailing team is currently in first place at the Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship hosted by St. Mary’s. Nine races in A division and 10 races in B division were completed on this first day of racing. One more day remains.

No. 2 Bulldogs Finish Semifinals, Qualify for Nationals
The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team won the Western Semifinals to qualify for the Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship which begins tomorrow.

The Yale coed sailing team began the ICSA Western Semifinals today at St. Mary’s. After the first day of racing, the Bulldogs sit in first place with a ten-point lead.

National Semifinals Begin Tomorrow
Fresh off their victory at the APS Team Race National Championship, the No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will begin competing in the Western Semifinals in hopes of qualifying for the Gill Coed Dinghy Championships. St. Mary’s is hosting all the events.

Bulldogs Win National Championship
The Yale coed sailing team won the APS Team Race National Championship today for the Walter C. Wood Trophy. After three long days of racing, the team finished with a dominant 22-3 record. This is the second year in a row that Yale has won this national championship.

After the New England Dinghy Championships, the NEISA awards committee announced the first and second All-New England teams, along with other individual New England awards. Yale’s success during the fall and spring season showed, with six Bulldogs earning honors.

No. 2 Bulldogs Sail For Ivy Honors
After team racing all spring, the Bulldogs return to fleet racing this weekend. The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will compete at home for collegiate sailing’s equivalent to Ivy League championships at the Owen, Mosbacher and Knapp Trophies. The team will also sail the Thompson Trophy at Coast Guard. The three-division fleet race is the major intersectional in New England this weekend.

No. 2 Bulldogs Sail First Fleet Race of the Spring
The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team sailed all over the East Coast this weekend, placing sixth at the Eckerd Intersectional, and ninth at the Ice Breaker Regatta at Connecticut College. These events were the first fleet races for the Bulldogs this spring.

The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will begin its spring break training trip with two competitions this week. One group will race in the Connecticut College Fleet Race, while another will go south for the Eckerd Intersectional. The remaining Bulldogs will begin practices at University of South Florida.

The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team began its spring season by winning the Bob Bavier Team Race at College of Charleston this weekend. The Bulldogs did not attend the practice event at Roger Williams due to weather concerns.

No. 2 Bulldogs Begin Team Racing Season
After a long winter and only one day of on-the-water practice, the No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will begin its season with two team racing regattas this weekend. One group will race in the Bob Bavier Team Race at College of Charleston, while the other group with race in a one-day practice event at Roger Williams, since the Sharpe Trophy was cancelled due to the cold.

Yale Sailors Race in World Cup, McNay Finishes Third
Claire Dennis ’13, Sarah Lihan ’10 and Stuart McNay ’05 all competed in the ISAF Sailing World Cup Regatta which took place in Miami over the course of the past six days. They were three out of 580 athletes from 50 different countries and the regatta was the third of five in the ISAF World Cup series.

The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team ended its fall season this weekend, placing fourth at the ICSA Match Racing National Championship held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club in Sonars after three days of racing.

This weekend the No. 1 Yale coed sailing team qualified for the Atlantic Coast Championships by placing third at the Erwin Schell Trophy hosted by MIT. The Bulldogs also sent two teams to the Dave Perry Trophy, with the Yale Elis finishing first, and the Yale Bulldogs finishing 11th.

Coming off a successful first weekend, the newly ranked No. 1 Yale coed sailing team will have the opportunity to showcase its depth, sailing two three-division intersectionals and a third traditional two-division regatta. Yale will send teams to the Hatch Brown Trophy at MIT, the Nevins Trophy at the US Merchant Marine Academy King’s Point, and the Boston Harbor Invitational at Boston College.

The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team swept its competition this weekend, winning both the Harry Anderson Trophy sailed at home and the Pine Trophy sailed at the US Coast Guard Academy.

The No. 2 Yale coed sailing team will begin its fall season sailing the Harry Anderson Trophy at the McNay Family Sailing Center. The team will also compete in the Pine Trophy held at the US Coast Guard Academy. Coming off their national championship last spring and two weeks of pre-season training, the Bulldogs are primed and ready to sail.

Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Provides Valuable Experience
After four difficult days of racing, Landy and his team finished the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup in tenth place. Although a disappointing end to a summer of training, Landy’s team USA45 Racing was still proud to have the opportunity to represent the United States in this one of a kind international regatta.

Three Bulldogs Named to All-Academic Sailing Team
In a strong showing, three members of the Yale coed sailing team were named to the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association’s 2013 All-Academic Sailing Team in Minneapolis, Minn., on July 12.
