  • Five Bulldogs Named to All-Academic Team

    On Friday, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association announced the 2014-2015 All-Academic Team. Only juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA were considered. They also had to be starters or key reserves for their team at seven regattas during the school year.
  • Eight Bulldogs Receive All-American Honors

    In an online awards show this evening, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association named the 2014-2015 All-America Team. Eight of the sailors awarded this prestigious honor are members of the Yale coed sailing team, four of the eight also members of the women’s team.
  • Bulldogs Win National Championship

    On Thursday, with a 69-point lead, the No. 1 Yale coed sailing team claimed the Henry A. Morss Memorial Trophy for the top team at the Gill Coed National Championship. This is the third national championship win for the Bulldogs this spring - they also won the Women's and Team Race National Championships in the past two weeks - a feat that has not been achieved by a collegiate sailing team since 1991.

    After having sailed eight races in each division in FJs, the No. 1 Yale coed sailing team is tied with Stanford University with 64 points at the Gill Coed Western Semifinals, which places them in second on a tiebreaker.
  • No. 1 Bulldogs to Begin National Semifinal

    This morning, the No. 1 Bulldogs will return to Fort Adams in Newport, R.I., to begin racing in the Gill Coed National Semifinal Championship. The Bulldogs will compete in the Western semifinal, which will last two days.
  • Bulldogs Win Team Race Championship

    Sunday, the No. 1 Yale coed sailing team held on to its lead and placed first at the Laser Performance Team Race National Championship for the Walter C. Wood Trophy. This is the Bulldogs’ third year in a row claiming the trophy and their second national championship win this spring.

    This weekend, the No. 1 Yale coed sailing team competed at home and won Owen, Mosbacher and Knapp Trophies, which serve as sailing’s equivalent of the Ivy League Championship. The Bulldogs also won the Thompson Trophy at Coast Guard, and placed seventh at the Oberg Trophy at MIT.

  • No. 1 Bulldogs Return to the North

    The No. 1 Yale coed sailing team will return to Connecticut after a week of training and competition in Maryland. Part of the team will remain at Yale and continue practicing with a group of alumni, while two other squads will travel to the Thames River and compete in the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College, and the Vietor Trophy hosted by Coach Guard.
