Southern Series 5 University of Rhode Island April 21 & 22, 2007
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Sat: Southerly breeze filled early and lasted for the entire day, making for great racing and enjoyable race management. Strong currents caused many general recalls slowing racing but not enough to prevent getting 12 races in on the day. One breakdown resulting in one boat being replaced in the rotation and no protests we filed. One no show resulted in a difficult rotation for some teams but we appreciate everyone,s patients.
Sun: An easterly wind persisted all day, with small shifts but a fairly constant direction. 12 races were completed on the day, closing out the rotation. No breakdowns as well as no protests. Thanks to all 12 teams who attended and made for a great weekend of racing.
Fairfield University was a no show on the weekend.
Many thanks to all the URI sailors who lent a hand ferrying people in and out, as well as helping run races.
