Brian Ronai's first career collegiate homer was a memorable one.

Ronai delivered the go-ahead homer in the ninth to edge Yale past Hartford on Wednesday afternoon in West Hartford, Conn. The Bulldogs won 13-11 and improved to 9-10 overall in their final game before Ivy League play begins this weekend.

In a game that featured eight lead changes, the Bulldogs came out on top with four runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth.

After a three-hit game on Sunday, Benny Wanger followed up with a two-hit game today.    Wanger's triple with the bases loaded game Yale an 11-8 lead going into the bottom of the eighth.

The Hawks (3-12) tied the game in the eighth.

Ronai homered to left field with one out in the ninth.  Tom Ruddy walked and advanced to third on a Tom Fuller single.  Tim DeGraw followed with a sac fly to give the Bulldogs an insurance run.

Griffin Dey (2-0) recorded the final six outs, including a scoreless ninth, and earned the win for Yale.

The Bulldogs begin conference play this weekend with doubleheaders at Princeton and Cornell.
