Griffin Dey hit his league-leading seventh homer and Scott Politz went the distance for his fifth win to give the Bulldogs a doubleheader split at Cornell on Sunday afternoon.

Politz started and won game one, 7-2, for the Bulldogs with the help of Dey's three-run homer in the fifth inning.  Politz gave up two earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts and one walk in the seven-inning game.

The Bulldogs now stand at 10-11 overall and 1-1 in league play.  Cornell is 10-8 and 1-3 in the Ivy League.

Dey also walked with the bases loaded in the sixth and Dai Dai Otaka added a sac fly in the seventh for insurance runs. Tim DeGraw and Otaka both had two hits in game one.

DeGraw has at least hit in seven of his last nine games, including today's doubleheader.

The Big Red won game two 6-4.

Mason Kukowski started game two, went two innings and gave up five runs (three earned).

Cornell scored once both in the first and second, before the Bulldogs stormed back for three runs in the third.

In the top of the third, Andrew Herrera had an RBI double, DeGraw had a run-scoring single and Richard Slenker had a sac fly to give the Bulldogs a brief 3-2 lead.  Cornell plated three in the bottom half of the inning.

Herrera added another RBI single in the fourth to account for Yale's final run.

The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow for a doubleheader at Princeton, who swept a pair against Brown on Sunday afternoon.  The first game is scheduled for 12 p.m.
