Yale at Quinnipiac

The Bulldogs will take on Quinnipiac in nearby Hamden, Conn., on Tuesday afternoon. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday but moved up a day due to the inclement weather forecasted.
Yale (3-11) dropped two of three games at the Spider Invitational. Both losses came in the opponent's last at bat, however there were several bright spots over the weekend.
Dey hit .389 (7 for 18) in five games last week -- including three multi-hit games -- with five RBI last week for the Bulldogs. He raised his average to .321 on the season, second behind only Tim DeGraw (.339).
Politz, a first team All-Ivy selection last year, delivered his first victory of the season in an 11-4 win over Monmouth. Politz went eight innings, allowed two runs and struck out four without walking a batter.
Nambiar, who won his first two decisions in 2018, pitched the first six innings and allow three runs (one earned). He struck out eight and walked one.
Brodkowitz pitched the first eight innings, allowed three hits and allowed one solo home run. His ERA dropped to 2.73 over his first 26 and 1/3 innings in 2018.
Tuesday marks the home opener for the Bobcats, who played their first 17 games on the road. Quinnipiac (8-9) was picked to finish eighth in the MAAC Baseball Preseason Poll.
