The Bulldogs will look to finish the final weekend before Ivy League play begins on a high note as they begin a three-game series at Stetson in Deland, Florida.

The series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m.  Games are also scheduled for Saturday (6:30 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).

Yale closes out its trip the through the Sunshine State with another quality opponent.  It started with three games in Gainesville against No. 5 Florida, continued earlier this week against Central Florida (No. 27 RPI ranking) and now Stetson, who won an NCAA Regional title last season.

Simon Whiteman had an 11-game hit streak snapped on Wednesday at Central Florida but continues to lead the team in hits (21), runs (11), extra-base hits (6) and stolen bases (13).  As the team's primary leadoff hitter, Whiteman has a .464 on-base percentage.

First-year Jake Gehri is also hot at the plate. He's 8 for his last 20 over the last five games.

Stetson enters the weekend with a record of 7-9 after defeating Florida International on Tuesday night.  The Hatters finished among the top 10 to 15 in every major poll to end 2018 season with a 48-13 record, ASUN regular season and tournament titles before capturing an NCAA Regional title.

The Bulldogs open their home schedule on Wednesday against Quinnipiac and the Ivy League season begins next weekend with a three-game series at Brown.
