Ray Guarino will enter his fifth season Coach Stuper's staff in 2013-14. Guarino works primarily with the Bulldogs' infielders and outfielders while assisting with all defensive strategies. In addition to dealing with the defensive aspects of the game, he also serves as Yale's first base coach.

Guarino has over 10 years of college and high school coaching experience. Prior to Yale, he spent two seasons at Foran High School in Milford, Conn., before moving on to West Haven High School in West Haven, Conn., where he played an integral part in helping the Blue Devils to the 2009 Connecticut state championship and the No. 1 overall ranking in Connecticut.

In the summer, Coach Guarino is responsible for running Coach Stuper's World Class Baseball Summer Camp for kids, ages 7-12. The summer of 2013 was Guarino's 16th with World Class Sports.

In addition to coaching baseball, Guarino teaches seventh grade at St. Francis/St. Rose of Lima School in New Haven, Conn., and is also in his 15th season as the assistant boys soccer coach at West Haven High School. During the winter, Guarino also officiates high school basketball for Board 10 New Haven County, and a few area recreational leagues.

He is a 2000 graduate of Southern Connecticut State with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He lives in West Haven with his wife, Jackie.
