Scored 29 Points, Grabbed Six Rebounds In Victory Over Miami

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Miye Oni, who scored a career-high 29 points in Yale's 77-73 victory over Miami on Saturday, has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. Oni was 10-of-15 from the field and added six rebounds in 38 stellar minutes as the Bulldogs knocked off the Hurricanes of the ACC.

His free throw shooting also was big down the stretch. He made two with 1:30 left that snapped a 73-73 tie and gave the Bulldogs the lead for good. He then sealed the victory with two more free throws with 10 seconds left.

Earlier in the week, Oni had another strong game in Yale's 103-61 thrashing of Bryant, finishing with 15 points and four assists in just 23 minutes of action.

On the season, Oni leads the Bulldogs in scoring at 18.6 ppg.

South Florida native Paul Atkinson also was recognized for his big game vs. the Hurricanes. He was named to the Honor Roll after going 8-of-10 from the field and scoring 17 points playing in front of numerous family and friends.

The Bulldogs play their home opener on Wednesday, hosting Lehigh at 7 p.m. at Lee Amphitheater.
