In 2002-03, Draughan was ninth in the Ivy League in scoring (11.4 ppg.) and 12th in three-point field goal percentage (.393). In addition, he was second on the team in three-pointers (35), assists (68), steals (32) and blocks (12). In the first three games of the season, he averaged 16.3 points and was named the first Ivy League Player of the Week.
In 2001-02, Draughan shared the John C. Cobb Memorial Award with Alex Gamboa as Yale's most outstanding freshman. He was eighth in the Ivy League in scoring (11.5 ppg.) and seventh in steals (42). The 42 steals were the sixth most in a season in school history. He was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week four times and was named as a player on the rise by ESPN.com's Andy Katz in his "Weekly Watch" column. Draughan reached double figures in scoring in 19 games and topped the 20-point mark on four occasions, including tallying a team-high 22 points in the Bulldogs' victory at Penn State. In that game he made 11 of 12 free throws, all in the second half.
AT MAYFAIR HIGH SCHOOL: Draughan was an all-league and All-CIF selection and helped lead the team to the 1999 CIF championship. He was ranked among the top 100 prospects by CNNSI.com in its preseason rankings and was rated a "Super Prospect" by FansOnly.com.
PERSONAL: Edwin was born on Dec. 5, 1982 and is the son of Eddie Draughan and Loretta Smith. At Yale Edwin is an American studies major. At Mayfair High School, he played with Josh Childress, who is currently playing in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks
