Dominick Martin Named Ivy League MVP By CollegeInsider.com

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Dominick Martin, who leads Yale in scoring (13.9 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.), has been named the Ivy League Most Valuable Player by CollegeInsider.com, a website devoted to college basketball, with special attention given to the mid-major conferences.
Martin, who scored the 1000th point of his career last Friday at Cornell, has averaged 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in 12 Ivy games. In the Bulldogs' weekend sweep of Columbia and Cornell, he had double-doubles in both games. Against the Lions he scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and against the Big Red he had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Martin was named the Ivy League co-Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 26 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in a win at Harvard.
Martin has enjoyed an outstanding career for the Bulldogs. He is currently third in school history in career field goal percentage (.569) and sixth in career blocked shots (66).
Penn's Ibrahim Jaaber was named the Ivy League's Player of the Year and the Quakers' Fran Dunphy was selected as Coach of the Year.
Yale hosts first-place Penn on Friday at 7 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
