Dominick Martin Named Ivy League Player Of The Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Dominick Martin, who averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds in Yale's weekend sweep of Cornell and Columbia, was named the Ivy League Player of the Week.

Against Cornell, Martin was 7-of-12 from the field and scored 15 points in 27 minutes. He also grabbed 12 rebounds and had two assists. Against Columbia, Martin was 7-of-11 from the field and had 19 points. He also grabbed 12 rebounds and added two blocks and two steals. Nine of Martin's 12 rebounds came in the second half as Yale outrebounded Columbia 16-13 after being outrebounded 24-14 in the first half. In the two games, Martin shot 60.9 percent (14-of-23) and was 6-of-8 from the foul line.

With the two wins, Yale moved to 7-6 in the League after a 1-3 conference start. A win over Brown Tuesday night will give the Bulldogs a second-place tie with Cornell.
