NEW HAVEN, Conn.- Captain of the heavyweight squad Zachary Johnson and team member David DeVries have both been named to USRowing's Men's Sweep Under-23 National Team Selection Camp. The camp will take place between June 8 and July 7 at the California Rowing Club in Oakland, Calif., and will be under the direction of coach Luke McGee.
"I'm excited to have been given the chance to try out for the national team this summer," said Johnson, who has just finished the last exams he will take as a Yale student. "It will be an awesome way to continue our already successful season. If we don't end up going to Henley, I will definitely be going to the camp."
DeVries, who has just completed his sophomore year, echoed Johnson's sentiments. "I am excited and honored to have earned an invitation to compete at camp. I look forward to the competition and challenges that it will present as I strive to achieve my goal of representing Yale and the United States at the international level."
