Yale Set to Race in the 153rd Yale – Harvard Regatta
NEW LONDON, CT – This Saturday, June 9, less than one week after winning their second straight national title, the Yale Bulldogs race Harvard in the 153rd edition of the Yale – Harvard Regatta. Last year, Yale won the 1V, 2V, and 3V events for the first time since 1996. The Yale varsity crew has not lost against Harvard since 2014. All of Saturday's races can be seen for free on Facebook Live.
The Elis have had a remarkable season. The varsity had its fourth straight undefeated dual season, its fourth straight Eastern Sprints victory, and won the IRA National Championship Regatta, again.
Though winning all the races is always an important objective for the Elis, the Yale – Harvard race remains the most significant and meaningful event of the year. The Regatta serves as the oldest collegiate sporting event in the United States.
The Yale program has been more successful than ever over the past few years. After its 2015 Eastern Sprints victory, the program's first since 1982, the Bulldogs never looked back. Here are some of the program's most significant results:
