Yale Varsity Eight Takes Fourth in Prelims

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Yale varsity placed fourth in Saturday's preliminary heat and will race in the Copley Cup's petite final at the San Diego Crew Classic. Competition was tough in the morning prelims. Yale fell to Princeton, and missed out on grand final qualification, by 1.54 seconds. The petite final will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Apr. 5. Live video coverage of the race can be found here. The Bulldogs will be racing in lane one, next to Syracuse, Michigan, OSU and Purdue.

This year's varsity entry in the Copley Cup was composed of sophomore Derek Johnson (stroke), senior Andrew Collard (seven), senior Pieter Morgan (six), junior Lucas Spielfogel (five), sophomore Matthew Ramlow (four), junior James Tormey (three), junior Henry Cole (two), sophomore Marcos Carzolio (bow) and junior Rebecca Burgoyne-Allen (coxswain).
