NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After a strong performance at Brandeis and a week of winter training, the men's fencing team is ready for the Penn State Invitational on Sunday, January 14. At the tournament, they will face talented rivals but hope to continue their successful season. Senior captain Avery Vella looks forward to the Bulldogs facing such formidable opponents, "This is a much tougher meet than our first at Brandeis. We're really looking forward to fencing Columbia, to see how we stack up with the best in the Ivy League. Duke is a good team and that should be close meet that we want to pull out." He also expressed his anticipation for the Elis' hard work in winter training to shine through in their fencing. Along with Columbia and Duke, Yale will also be competing against Penn State, UNC and Haverford in a long day of fencing, which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
