Yale Defeats Brandeis 17-10

Jan. 22, 2004

With three undefeated performances from the Elis, the men's fencing team defeated Brandeis University 17-10 in Waltham, Mass. Michael Aboodi and Cory Werk posted 3-0 scores in foil, while John Beski went 3-0 in the epee division.

Despite the strong personal performances by Aboodi and Werk in foil, the Elis lost that weapon to Brandeis, falling 5-4. But a strong showing in the epee, led by Beski, gave Yale a 7-2 victory in that category.

In saber, the Elis won 6-3 to help give them the 17-10 win over Brandeis.

Yale travels to Poughkeepsie, NY this weekend to face Vassar and Rutgers.
