Werk Leads Bulldogs in 32nd Penn State Garrett Open

The Bulldogs saw their first action of the season this weekend at the 32nd annual Penn State Garrett Open. Cory Werk, runner-up in the NCAA championships last spring, led the way with a third place finish in the men's foil.

Following Werk in the foil event were Chie-yu Lin (48th), Kawing Cho (49th), and Vadim Tsipenyuk (50th).

In the sabre division, freshman Matthew Chaiken led the Elis with a 28th-place showing. Harry Flaster and Marcus Hayman finished 45th and 46th, respectively, while Christopher Sinay (49th) and Christopher Peterson (53rd) rounded out Yale's performance.

In epee, William Tauxe paced the Bulldogs with a 21st-place finish and Steven Miller followed in 24th. John Beski (28th), George London (60th), and Gabriel Billings (64th) also competed.

Dual meet action begins on Tuesday, Nov. 30th against visiting New York University.
