Nation's Premier Regional Sports Network And Historic Football Program Join Forces Again
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The 2009 Yale Football Team will have three straight Ivy League contests broadcast live on the YES Network for the second straight season as part of a package called Yale on YES.
The YES games are Saturday, Oct. 31 (Yale at Columbia), Saturday, Nov. 7 (Brown at Yale) and Saturday, Nov. 14 (Yale at Princeton). All three telecasts begin at 1 p.m. ET.
YES broadcaster Chris Shearn will handle the play-by-play, with color commentary coming from former Ivy League and National Football League lineman Ross Tucker and former Yale defensive back Jack Ford '72, a well-known author and TV personality. Dan Fleschner '01, a former radio voice of Ivy League sports and currently the producer for "Today" on NBC News, will provide insight from the sidelines on all three games.
YES aired Bulldog victories over Brown and Columbia last year while the 2008 package also included a two-point loss to Penn.
"We are thrilled to be associated and featured on Yale on YES. We are also very excited to usher in a new era of Yale football on this great network for all our fans to see," said Yale's Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of Football Tom Williams, less than two months from his first season with the Bulldogs.
