Prep For 2009 Season Begins Friday at 2 p.m.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Anticipation for a new era in Yale Football has reached a crescendo and fans don't have much longer to wait to get a look at the Bulldogs. The first practice of the 2009 Yale Football season is Friday, Aug. 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Clint Frank Field and the other fields next to Yale's baseball stadium.
All but one of the nine practices leading up to the first day of classes on Sept. 2 will be in that 2 to 4 time slot. The exception is Aug. 29 when the Blue goes from 12:30 to 2:30. Other changes could be made along the way.
From Sept. 1 through the end of the season, the Bulldogs are on the practice field Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 to 9:15 AM.
All Yale Football practices are open to the public. The Bulldogs, under Tom Williams, the first-year Joel E. Smilow '54 Head Coach of Yale Football, kick the regular season off at Georgetown on Sept. 19. From then on Mondays are off while Friday pre-game, walk-through at Yale Bowl will vary.
The Elis, who report in New Haven on Aug. 20, host Union College for a Sept. 5 scrimmage in the Bowl at 2 p.m.
