JV Team Beats Bridgton 34-26
Bulldogs Run for 283 Yards
NEW HAVEN, Conn - The Yale junior varsity football team ran for 283 yards, including 184 from freshman running back Taylor Stib, en route to a 34-26 win over Bridgton Academy Sunday afternoon at Clint Frank Field. Stib had touchdown runs of seven and 79 yards. He also caught three passes for 40 yards and completed a 56-yard pass to sophomore wide receiver Chris Morris.
Freshman running back Javi Sosa added 103 yards, while freshman quarterback Dez Duron completed 10 of 23 passes for 106 yards and three touchdowns (21 yards to freshman receiver Chris Smith, 10 yards to sophomore tight end Alex Birks and four yards to freshman receiver John Runk).
The Yale defense was led by freshman defensive lineman Chris Dooley with 10 tackles (three for a loss), a fumble recovery and a sack. Sophomore linebacker Ben Ashcraft added nine tackles and sophomore linebacker Austin Pulsipher had seven. Sophomore defensive back Josh Grizzard had an interception.
The Yale JVs play again Nov. 20, 1 p.m. vs. Harvard.
