Teammates Support Caleb Smith's Production
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Taking teamwork beyond the playing field, senior tight end Caleb Smith and a number of his teammates have collaborated to produce a short film entitled "Belly of the Whale." Smith, a film studies major working on his senior project, wrote and directed the piece that premieres at the Whitney Humanities Center (53 Wall Street) at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 7.
Smith describes the film as a 25-minute independent film about a hapless bouncer who gets blackmailed by a professional criminal into doing a seemingly simple job. He developed the storyline with fellow Bulldog Sean Williams '11, who stars in the production. Other teammates in the credits include Alexander Golubiewski '11 as the director of photography, John Pedersen '11 as location manager, Nate Blair '11 as production manager, and Andrew Pappas '11 as producer.
Williams is not the only football player making an appearance on the big screen: Shane Bannon '11, Chris Blohm '11, Pat Moran '11, Javi Sosa '13, Jake Koury '11, Gio Christodoulou '11, and Chris Smith '13 all feature in Smith's production.
