Haynes, Witt Earn Academic Awards
Bulldogs Get Distict I Honors
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two senior leaders on the Yale football team with impressive scholarly endeavors and statistics from the field have earned Capital One Academic All-District honors. Linebacker Jordan Haynes (Folsom, Calif.) and quarterback Patrick Witt (Wylie, Texas) earned Division I distinction in District I and are now in the running for academic All-America honors.
Haynes, captain of the Bulldogs, was a National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame High School Scholar Athlete the year before coming to New Haven. He has a 3.62 GPA in political science and international studies.
Haynes leads Yale with 70 tackles and two fumble recoveries this fall.
Witt, a 2011 National Football Foundation & Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete and a Rhodes Scholar Finalist, owns a 3.91 GPA in history. He owns most off Yale's major career passing records and has thrown for 1,763 yards and 13 TDs this season.
