Stoller, Witt Putting on NFL Helmets
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Jake Stoller (Shaker Heights, Ohio), a standout and versatile Yale defensive lineman the last four years, has been signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers and will be at their rookie orientation weekend in a few days.
Stoller, signed as an unrestricted free agent, led the Bulldogs last fall with 4.5 sacks and was a second-team All-Ivy League selection. He also earned Yale's Jordan Olivar Award (respected most by teammates).
"The Steelers called just as the draft ended, and immediately I said yes. They are a great organization that I have followed for years. I head up there this weekend for the rookie mini-camp, and I am excited to get started," said the 6-4, 290-pound Bulldog, one of six defensive players signed by Pittsburgh after the draft.
Stoller's teammate, Patrick Witt (Atlanta, Ga.), has a tryout next weekend with the New Orleans Saints, while other former Bulldogs are also finalizing plans to get tryouts with NFL teams.
