Broadcasts Kick Off Sept. 21

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale Football Radio Network's debut is Sept. 21 with the kickoff of the 2013 season at Colgate. The new network includes Talk of Connecticut/Buckley Radio Stations WDRC (AM 1360 Hartford), WWCO (AM 1240 Waterbury), WMMW (AM 1470 Meriden), WSNG (AM 610 Torrington) and WDRC (FM 102.9 HD -3 Hartford).

Yale and Buckley Radio announced a three-year agreement today that has legendary coach Carm Cozza and Ron Vaccaro '04 calling the action of Yale Football in four new parts of the state. The five Talk of Connecticut stations will pick-up the feed of all 10 games from New Haven flagship station AM 1300.

"Yale Football is a world class heritage program and we're thrilled to launch the formation of the Yale Radio Network," said Eric Fahnoe, Vice President and General Manager for Buckley Radio of Connecticut.  "Everyone at the Talk of Connecticut is looking forward to introducing Carm, Ron and Yale Football to our listeners in the coming weeks."

Cozza, who handles the color commentary, is the career victory leader among Ivy League coaches and a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. This is his 16th season in the booth after a 32-year head coaching tenure during which he led the Bulldogs to 10 Ivy League Championships.

The play-by-play is done by Vaccaro, entering his ninth season as the voice of the Bulldogs. He has been covering the team since his freshman year in 2000.

Buckley Radio is an independently owned and operated broadcasting company.  The company owns 14 radio stations in five markets.
