Yale's Senior Kicker Honored With Selection
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Kyle Cazzetta, Yale's top punter and placekicker last fall, has been included on the College Football Performance Awards' (CFPA) 2014 placekicker watch list.
Cazzetta, an honorable mention All-Ivy League placekicker in 2013, was the starter at both kicking positions last fall. He earned league special teams player of the week twice and finished with 11 field goals (15 attempts), the second most by an Ivy player.
The left-footer from Slate Hill, N.Y., booted a career-long 46-yard field goal in three different games last fall. Cazzetta's busy leg also punted 54 times for a 38.7 average. His long punt was 68 yards while he had 14 that landed inside the 20-yard line.
Cazzetta, who did not placekick his first two collegiate seasons, has been the Bulldogs' starting punter since his freshman campaign. He has been very consistent since arriving in New Haven, including a number of big kicks. His career-best punt was a 72-yarder his sophomore year.
The full list of 2014 CFPA winners will be announced Jan. 14, 2015.
