  • Rawlings Gets Ivy Player of Week

    Yale junior quarterback Kurt Rawlings comes from horse country in Bel Air, Md. Last Saturday he was a great mudder on the soggy Yale Bowl track against a highly-regarded FCS foe. Rawlings threw for a career-high 344 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 35-28 win over Mercer, a performance that earned him Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this fall.

    A Southern Conference team making a rare appearance at Yale Bowl got a cold welcome from an Ivy League team making big FCS statements this season. Yale scored the first three touchdowns of the game on the way to a 35-28 win over Mercer.

    Reed Klubnik had a career-best 13 catches for 124 yards, including a 23-yard touchdown pass from Kurt Rawlings, but the Yale Football Team could not hold off Dartmouth’s ground game well enough in a 41-18 loss to the Big Green.

    Yale junior quarterback Kurt Rawlings caught the eyes of the New England Football Writers last Saturday when he was part of four touchdowns in a 35-14 win over No. 16 Maine at Yale Bowl. The Bel Air, Md., native was named the recipient of the writers’ gold helmet award, presented today at the weekly luncheon at Harvard.

    Yale Football’s Team 146 has won two straight games heading into a matchup with an undefeated league opponent. The Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0 Ivy) host Dartmouth (3-0, 1-0) on Friday at 6 p.m. in an Ivy clash airing live on ESPNU as well as ESPN Radio (AM 1300) and iHeart Radio.
  • Bulldogs Beat Maine 35-14

    A message was delivered today and all the FCS should take notice. The Bulldogs can play with anyone in the country. Juniors QB Kurt Rawlings and WR Reed Klubnik connected on touchdown passes of 7, 24 and 6 yards while the defense allowed just 13 first downs and 264 yards of total offense as the Yale Football Team improved to 2-1 with a 35-14 win in its home opener at Yale Bowl against No. 16 Maine.

    J. Hunter Roman, a Yale senior defensive end from New London, Conn., has been named a semifinalist for the 2018 William V. Campbell Trophy, the award that recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation.
  • Alston Named Ivy Rookie of Week

    Spencer Alston, a first-year running back from Vienna, Va., made his collegiate debut a memorable one last Saturday in Yale’s Ivy League Football opener at Cornell. The 185-pound former South Lakes High School star moved up to the No. 2 spot an hour before the game and ended up getting more carries than he expected.

    Yale Football’s Team 146, coming off a 30-24 Ivy League opening game win over Cornell last Saturday that evened its record at 1-1, opens its home slate this Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff against the University of Maine (2-1), ranked No. 13/16 in the FCS and making its first visit to Yale Bowl since 1937.     WORCESTER, Mass. – Melvin Rouse, Alan Lamar, JJ Howland and Reed Klubnik scored touchdowns and Ryan Burke made 11 tackles, but the 2018 Yale Football Team opened its season with a 31-28 overtime loss against Holy Cross.

  • Crowle Named Football Captain

    Nicholas Crowle, a Milford, Conn., native who grew up watching the Bulldogs play and had his heart set on coming to Yale University at a very young age, is the football team’s new captain. Yale’s Team 146 voted last night and Tony Reno, the Joel E. Smilow ’54 Head Coach, announced the results to the Bulldogs today during practice at Yale Bowl.

    The rookie running back who helped the Yale Football Team win the 2017 Ivy League Championship has been named to the 2018 STATS FCS Pre-Season All-America Team. Zane Dudek, who earned All-America status last fall, earned pre-season, second-team status.
