RB Goes For 120 in Debut

PRINCETON, N.J.Spencer Alston, a first-year running back from Vienna, Va., made his collegiate debut a memorable one last Saturday in Yale's Ivy League Football opener at Cornell. The 185-pound former South Lakes High School star moved up to the No. 2 spot an hour before the game and ended up getting more carries than he expected.

Alston had 18 rushing attempts and ran for 120 yards, while his four-yard scamper into the end zone with 3:14 left in the fourth quarter ended up producing the game-winning points in a 30-24 game.

His longest run of the day was a 25-yarder, helping the Elis rack up 428 of total offense. Alston also grabbed a pass from quarterback Kurt Rawlings that went for 21 yards.

The Bulldogs (1-1) host No. 13/16 Maine (2-1) this Saturday at Yale Bowl on Youth Day.
