Yale QB Honored by NE Football Writers
BOSTON, Mass. – Yale junior quarterback Kurt Rawlings caught the eyes of the New England Football Writers last Saturday when he was part of four touchdowns in a 35-14 win over No. 16 Maine at Yale Bowl. The Bel Air, Md., native was named the recipient of the writers' gold helmet award, presented today at the weekly luncheon at Harvard.
Rawlings, who also earned the College Sports Madness Ivy Player of the Week, threw three scoring passes to WR Reed Klubnik and ran for another TD against a Black Bears defense that had seen a lot of success over the first three games. The Elis' QB has thrown for 782 yards and four TDs in three contests this fall.
The 2-1 Bulldogs play host to 3-0 Dartmouth in a key Ivy League contest airing on ESPNU this Friday at 6 p.m.
