Cretella, in his fifth year as a Yale defensive coach, begins his first season as coach of the inside linebackers. Prior to coming to Yale, Cretella spent five seasons as an assistant varsity football coach at Watertown (Conn.) High School, where he was also offensive coordinator for the junior varsity squad. Cretella, a 1993 Naugatuck High School graduate, was an all-league offensive lineman and team captain. He earned a degree in liberal studies from Southern Connecticut State University in 1999 and is pursuing a masters degree at Southern Connecticut.
