35 Newcomers Join Yale Squad

Thirty-five members of the class of 2009 join the Yale football program with high hopes and great potential. Here is a look at the Bulldog newcomers.

Bobby Abare 6-2 215 LB Acton, MA

At Acton-Boxborough Regional High School: Captained all three sports he played and earned 11 varsity letters... Rushed for school-record 4,100 yards and made 250 tackles playing both sides in four seasons of football... Played on teams that went 50-0 and won four league and state titles... Named MVP by league, Boston Globe and his team... Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic in 2003 and 2004... Massachusetts Hall of Fame All-Scholastic... All-star in basketball as a forward on team that won three league titles... Played two positions on baseball team... Larry Abare 6-1 195 Acton, MA
