McLeod Named Ivy Offensive Player of Week
Sept. 25, 2007
Yale junior TB Mike McLeod was named co-Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after his 151-yard, three TD performance in a 51-12 win over Cornell last Saturday at Yale Bowl and the Class of 1954 Field.
McLeod, who had 31 carries, shared the honor with Columbia junior RB Jordan Davis (22-177, 3 TD) who had a big day in an easy win over Marist.
Yale's standout runner has gone over the 100-yard mark a dozen times in his two-plus seasons. McLeod has seven Tds this season and has been listed on the Payton Watch for the FCS player of the year. He is third in the FCS with 21.0 points per game, while his 154.0 rushing yard average this season ranks sixth nationally.
The Bulldogs (2-0, 1-0 Ivy) travel to Holy Cross on Saturday for a noon kickoff that can be seen on Comcast CN8.
