Hennessey Earns All-New England Honors
Dec. 1, 2004
Rory Hennessey, the 2004 Yale football captain and first-team All-Ivy selection, added to his honors this fall by being named to the 2004 New England Football Writers Division I-AA All-Star Team.
The Bulldog left tackle, who did not allow a sack in his four seasons with Yale, was among four offensive players who were selected to the All-New England team for the second straight season. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound standout is still waiting to see if he is a repeat performer on the I-AA All-America lists as well.
The New England all-stars, which include 18 seniors, eight juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen, will be honored at the annual New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Lantana Restaurant in Randolph, Mass. Hennessey is among 14 players from the Ivy League who made this squad.
