    For the second straight year, Yale men’s golf head coach Colin Sheehan ’97 has been named the Division I Northeast Region Coach of the Year by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The GCAA made the announcement of the award, presented by Golf Pride Grips, in London on Friday.

    Senior captain Sam Bernstein capped off a stellar collegiate golf career on Sunday as he shared Ivy League Player of the Year honors with Columbia’s Brandon Jowers. Bernstein was also one of three members of the Yale men’s golf team to earn All-Ivy honors for his performance at the Apr. 25-27 Ivy League Championship: senior Sean Gaudette won first team All-Ivy honors while Bernstein and sophomore Joe Willis claimed second team All-Ivy honors.

This past weekend, he led the Yale men’s golf team to a second place finish at the Macdonald Cup in New Haven, finishing substantially ahead of Ivy League rivals Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn. Bernstein, also the founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone Golf Program, is the latest Total Mortgage Athlete Spotlight of the Week.
