  • Bulldogs Place Four on All-Ivy Squads, Nicholas Wins Player of the Year

    Following its first Ivy League Championship since 2011, the Yale men's golf team landed a quartet of players on the 2018 All-Ivy squads including three golfers who earned first-team all-conference honors. Junior James Nicholas, who tied for first at Ivies last week, is the 2018 Player of the Year following an extraordinarily successful season which also included wins at the Borsodi Student Championship, Cornell Invitational and The Yale Spring Invitational as well as team victories at The Macdonald Cup and Princeton Invitational. 
  • Yale Awaits NCAA Regional Selection

    Although the Yale men's golf team has to wait until Wednesday, May 2 to find out its postseason fate, the Bulldogs can rest assured having already clinched the Ancient Eight's automatic bid with a 22-stroke victory at the 2018 Ivy League Championship this past weekend. The Bulldogs will prepare to head to one of six regional sites spanning from Stockton, Calif., to Raleigh N.C., when the field is officially announced on the Golf Channel next Wednesday during the Men's Golf Championships selection show at 5:30 p.m. (ET), which can also be streamed on the Golf Channel website. 
  • Bulldogs Win Ivy League Championship

    The 2018 Ivy League Championship belongs to the Yale men's golf team after the Bulldogs carded a tournament-low score of 282 in Sunday's third and final round to win the conference championship by 22 strokes. The Elis placed three golfers in the top five among the 40 individuals competing this weekend, including juniors Eoin Leonard and James Nicholas who tied for first overall with a 9-over, 219 one week after the pair tied for first at The Yale Spring Invitational. However, Leonard prevailed in a playoff to secure medalist honors.
  • Yale Tied for First with Harvard at Ivy League Championship

    With one round left to play at the 2018 Ivy League Championship, the Yale men's golf team is locked in a tie for first with Harvard as both teams are at 38-over following a two-day score of 598 at Stonewall Golf Course. Brown's Kevin Li leads all players with his 5-over, 145 after Friday and Saturday but the Bulldogs' senior captain Will Bernstein is just three shots off the lead and in a tie for third while junior Eoin Leonard and first-year Teddy Zinsner are at 10-over and tied for fifth overall while Junior James Nicholas is at 11-over. 
  • Bulldogs Lead at Ivies

    After the first round of play at the 2018 Ivy League Championship, the Yale men's golf team holds a one stroke lead following a 20-over, 300 round on Friday at Stonewall Golf Course. Four Bulldogs finished tenth or higher in the event's opening round including senior captain Will Bernstein who is tied for second at 3-over and junior Eoin Leonard who is tied for seventh at 5-over.
  • Yale Looks for NCAA Berth at Ivy League Championship

    After a second-place finish at The Yale Spring Invitational, the Yale men's golf team will look to secure a regional bid for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship at the Ivy League Championship this Friday through Sunday. The Bulldogs aim to improve on their fourth-pace finish from a season ago at the three-round event held at Stonewall Golf Course in Elverson, Pa. which is a par-70, 6,866-yard course.
  • Bulldogs 2nd at The Yale Spring Invitational, Leonard and Nicholas Tie for 1st

    A pair of first-place finishers propelled the Yale men's golf team to a second-place finish at The Yale Spring Invitational behind tournament champion Tennessee in its final event of the regular season. The Bullldogs shot 16-over as a team in the two-round competition on Saturday at The Course at Yale but their scores of 283 and 293 still trailed the Volunteers by 11 strokes. The Yale (B) team also finished in sixth in the 16-team field by shooting 34-over.
  • Bulldogs Set to Host Yale Spring Invitational

    Coming off a first-place finish at the Princeton Invitational, the Yale men's golf team will return home for the Yale Spring Invitational this Saturday in their final event of the regular season. The Bulldogs will look to repeat their performance from a season ago, which included a team championship following a 9-over, 569 performance and medalist honors for senior captain Will Bernstein.
  • Bulldogs Win Princeton Invitational

    On the final day of the Princeton Invitational, the Yale men's golf team erased a six-shot deficit to win the tournament by carding a 3-under, 281 at Springdale Golf Club on Saturday. The Bulldogs placed three golfers in the top five among the 69 individuals competing this weekend, headlined by junior James Nicholas who finished second overall with a 5-under, 137 for the event, one stroke behind 2017 Ivy League Tournament medalist and individual champion Mike Graboyes of Cornell. 
  • Yale in 5th at Princeton Invitational

    Following the first round of play at the Princeton Invitational, the Yale men’s golf team is in fifth place after shooting an opening-round score of 289 on Friday. Junior Eoin Leonard and sophomore Jordan Weitz led the way for the Bulldogs by each shooting a 1-under, 70 as the Elis will look to move up the leaderboard in Saturday's second and final round.
  • Yale Heads to New Jersey for Princeton Invitational

    After beginning its spring season with a sixth-place finish at the Furman Intercollegiate, the Yale men's golf team will be back in action when it competes at the Princeton Invitational this weekend in New Jersey. While play was originally scheduled to run Friday through Sunday, the tournament has been cut to one round on Friday and a second and final round on Saturday.
  • Yale in Fourth in South Carolina

    After two days of play at the Furman Intercollegiate, the Yale men's golf team occupies the fourth spot on the 21-team leaderboard after following up its even par performance on Friday with a two-over, 290 on Saturday in the Palmetto State. A second consecutive 71 for senior captain Will Bernstein led all Bulldogs in the second round as Bernstein sits just five shots back of North Florida's Phillip Knowles who leads the tournament field with a seven-under, 137.
  • Yale Finishes Sixth at Furman Intercollegiate
    March 25, 2018
    On the final day of the Furman Intercollegiate, the Yale men's golf team slipped two spots down the leaderboard to finish the tournament in sixth place out of the 21 teams competing this weekend. After 54 holes, the Bulldogs posted a 15-over, 879 at Furman University Golf Course following a three-day high score of 301 on Sunday following scores of 288 and 290 in the first and second rounds. 
  • Bulldogs in Third at Furman Intercollegiate

    The Yale men's golf team opened the spring season with a successful first-round showing at the Furman Intercollegiate, placing third as a team and landing a trio of golfers in a tie for tenth on the player leaderboard. The Bulldogs' lineup of senior captain Will Bernstein, senior Henry Cassriel, junior Eoin Leonard, junior James Nicholas, and freshman Sean Yi finished par for the course with an even 288, five strokes behind second-place USC–Aiken and 10 strokes behind tournament leader North Florida.
  • Yale Tees Off Spring Season in Palmetto State

    For the first time since October, the Yale men's golf team will be back in action when it travels to Greenville, S.C., to take on the 21-team field at the Furman Intercollegiate this weekend. Play begins on Friday and concludes on Sunday at the par-72, 6,994 yard Furman University Golf Course, which was ranked in the Top 20 of Golfweek's "Best Campus Courses" in 2016.
  • Bulldogs Embark on Spring Season

    Following a successful fall campaign which included two individual championships, one team championship and a pair of dual-match victories, the Yale men’s golf team will resume the 2017–18 season following a five-month hiatus when it competes at the Furman Intercollegiate later this month. The Bulldogs’ quest for an Ivy League title and a berth in the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship will be bolstered by the return of junior James Leffew and senior James Park in addition to a strong nucleus of individual performers from the fall and a promising crop of underclassmen.
  • James Nicholas Earns 2017 MGA Player of the Year Award

    Following a breakout season by James Nicholasof Westchester Country Club, the Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce the 20-year-old Scarsdale, N.Y., native as the recipient of the 2017 MGA Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year Award. Nicholas compiled a stellar record through the summer, with high finishes in both the Met Open and Met Amateur propelling him to the coveted honor. The award will be presented to Nicholas at the MGA’s 120th Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, December 6 at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y.
  • Bulldogs Defeat Richmond in Dual Match

    For the second time this season, the Yale men's golf team emerged victorious in a dual match. Following a decisive triumph over Brown two weeks ago, the Bulldogs defeated Richmond, the defending Atlantic 10 Champion, by claiming 9.5 out of the possible 12 points in a neutral, 36-hole match on Saturday. 10 golfers competed for the Elis at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., a par 71 course that runs 7,226 yards. 
  • Bulldogs to Take on Richmond in Dual Match
    October 20, 2017
    In its second dual match of the season, the Yale men's golf team will head to Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., for a neutral 36-hole event versus Richmond on Saturday, The Bulldogs competed against the Spiders this past Monday and Tuesday at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic, finishing one spot ahead of Richmond prior to a team disqualification from the annual invitational.
  • Yale Disqualified at Autotrader Collegiate Classic
    October 18, 2017
    On the final day of the Autrotrader Collegiate Classic, the Yale men's golf team was disqualified from the tournament despite an 11th place finish overall. Sophomore Eric Hall and senior Henry Cassriel both signed an incorrect scorecard in the second round on Monday and as a result the team disqualified from the overall competition.

    October 16, 2017
    After the first two rounds of play at the Autotrader Collegiate Classic, the Yale men's golf team sits in 11th place following a 24-over, 600 performance on Monday. First-year Sean Yi, competing as an individual, carded rounds of 76 and 70 to finish in a tie for 18th and as the Bulldogs' top performer in the 92-player field.
  • Bulldogs Head South for Autotrader Collegiate Classic
    October 13, 2017
    Looking to build off a victory at the Macdonald Cup, the Yale men's golf team will head to Georgia for the Autotrader Collegiate Classic this Monday and Tuesday. The field for the event, hosted by Georgia State at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga., features 16 teams competing at the par 72, 6,694 yard course.
  • Yale Defeats Brown In 37-Stroke Victory
    October 11, 2017
    In its first dual match of the season, the Yale men's golf team defeated Brown by a wide margin. The Bulldogs team score of a one-over, 346 bested the Bears' mark by 37 strokes. Additionally, only one of the 10 golfers competing for the Elis posted a lower 18-hole score than any of the seven players from Brown.
  • Yale Set to Take On Brown
    October 06, 2017
    Coming off a team victory at the Macdonald Cup, the Yale men's golf team will head to Watch Hill, R.I., to take on Brown at Misquamicut Club this Saturday. The pair of Ivy League opponents will play a single 18-hole stroke play round. The Bulldogs and Bears will each play seven players and count the five best scores. Three additional Yale golfers will be competing as individuals.
  • Yale Leads the Field at Macdonald Cup

    In its first home tournament of the season, the Yale men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard at the Macdonald Cup after two rounds of play. The Bulldogs carded a 4-over, 564 performance on Saturday as they lead second-place Stirling by two strokes heading into Sunday's third and final round. 
  • Yale Wins The Macdonald Cup
    October 01, 2017
    The Yale men's golf team captured its first tournament victory of the season on Sunday by defeating second-place Stirling University by a single stroke to win the Macdonald Cup. The five members of the Bulldogs' top squad all finished 13th or better in the 81-player field while Yale (B), comprised entirely of underclassmen, moved four spots up the leaderboard in the final round to secure a fourth-place finish
  • Yale Set to Host Macdonald Cup

    This weekend the Yale men's golf team will be at home for the Macdonald Cup, a 13-team invitational hosted at The Course at Yale. The Bulldogs will be looking to build off successful performances at the Doc Gimmler and Cornell Invitational which were won by junior Eoin Leonard and junior James Nicholas respectively.
  • Nicholas Wins Cornell Invitational as Yale Finishes Second
    September 17, 2017
    Facing a 40-foot putt on the eighteenth hole at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, junior James Nicholas knew he had to make it. Temple's John Barone had already finished at 3-under following three consecutive rounds of 70 at the Cornell Invitational while Nicholas sat one stroke behind at 2-under. Nicholas calmly sank the putt, a birdie on the final hole, to give the native of Scarsdale, N.Y., the biggest victory of his collegiate career.
  • Bulldogs Place Two in Top Ten, First Place After Day 1

    After 36 holes of play at the Cornell Invitational, Yale leads the field of 16 teams and both junior James Nicholas and senior Will Bernstein finished in the top ten among the 90 individuals competing this weekend. The Bulldogs are one stroke ahead of Dartmouth and two strokes ahead of Temple, who finished second and third respectively. 
  • Bulldogs Head to Ithaca for Cornell Invitational
    September 15, 2017
    This weekend the Yale men's golf team will travel north to compete against 15 other squads at the Cornell Invitational at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course for the second time in as many years. Last season, the Bulldogs finished in a tie for third with Siena as the Big Red won their home invitational with a 27-over 879.
