  • Nicholas Wins Ivy Title, Yale Takes 3rd

    The Yale men's golf took third place at the 2019 Ivy League Championship after the Bulldogs carded a seven-over, 291 in Sunday's third and final round. Despite finishing at 25-over for the tournament, the Elis fell to first-place Princeton by two strokes and trailed second-place Columbia by one stroke.

    The Yale men's golf team trails first-place Princeton by just two strokes after the Bulldogs carded a six-over, 290 on Saturday at the Ivy League Championship. The Elis posted the lowest score of any team in the second round behind standout performances from senior and captain James Nicholas and sophomore Paul Stankey who sit in first and second place, respectively, on the individual leaderboard.

    Following 18 holes of play at the Ivy League Championship, the Yale men's golf team is eight strokes off the lead heading into Saturday's second round. The Bulldogs carded a 12-over, 296 but Princeton leads the field with its four-over, 288 while Cornell is in third at 15-over. Sophomore Paul Stankey leads all Elis with his even 71 which placed him in fourth place while senior and captain James Nicholas and sophomore Teddy Zinsner also sit among the top 10 players on the individual leaderboard.

    The Yale men's golf team looks to earn its second straight Ancient Eight crown and an NCAA Regionals berth when it heads to Hidden Creek Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., for the 2019 Ivy League Championship this Friday through Sunday.

    The Yale men's golf team erased an 11-shot first round deficit to come back and win the Yale Spring Invitational with an 11-over, 711 on Saturday. The Bulldogs finished five shots ahead of second-place Bucknell and six shots ahead of third-place Penn. Siena's Jack Brown earned medalist honors with a score of 134.

    Coming off a 14-stroke victory at the Princeton Invitational, the Yale men's golf team returns home for the Yale Spring Invitational this Saturday. The field for the event features Brown, Bucknell, Fairfeild, Fordham, Hartford, Harvard, Pennsylvania, Siena, St. Bonaventure, St. John's and Yale competing at The Course at Yale, which plays to 6,825 yards and par 70. 
  • Yale Wins Princeton Invitational

    The Yale men's golf team claimed the team championship at the Princeton Invitational after carding a 23-under, 829 over three rounds. The Bulldogs fared 14 shots better than second-place Penn while sophomores Paul Stankey and Teddy Zinsner finished first and second, respectively, among the 75 individuals competing at Springdale Golf Club. 
  • Elis Take 6th at Furman Intercollegiate
    March 24, 2019
    Following rounds of 289 and 288, the Yale men's golf team carded another 289 in Sunday's third and final round at the Furman Intercollegiate to finish in sixth place overall with a one-under score for the tournament. Sophomore Teddy Zinsner '21 along with senior and captain James Nicholas '19 both finished among the top-10 players on the individual leaderboard coming in eighth and ninth place, respectively.

    On the second day of play at the Furman Intercollegiate, the Yale men's golf team shot a four-over, 288 and now finds itself 16 shots back of tournament-leader Coastal Carolina with 18 holes left to play. Senior and captain James Nicholas leads all Bulldogs with his 141 and is tied for sixth overall while sophomore Teddy Zinsner is at 142 and tied for eighth. 
  • Yale Tied for 4th After Opening Round

    The Yale men's golf team concluded the first day of play at the Furman Intercollegiate in a tie for fourth place after carding a five-over, 289. At the par 71, 6.984-yard Furman University Golf Course, three Bulldogs placed 30th or higher on the individual leaderboard among the 120 individuals competing this weekend. 
  • Bulldogs Take 4th at Mission Inn Spring Spectacular
    March 17, 2019
    The Yale men's golf team opened its spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular after shooting a three-over, 867 following Sunday's third and final round. Sophomores Sean Yi and Teddy Zinsner led all Bulldogs by tying for 11th overall with scores of 216 apiece. 
  • Bulldogs Fourth After 36 Holes in Florida

    Playing in its first tournament since mid-October, the Yale men's golf team returned to the course at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular for two rounds of play on Saturday. The Bulldogs carded a two-over, 578 and sit in fourth place among the 18-team field while Yale's B team finds itself in 17th place after a 43-over, 619 performance. 
  • Bulldogs Win H-Y-P Match
    October 15, 2018
    For the third time in its last three tries, the Yale men's golf team claimed victory in a tri-match against Harvard and Princeton. After defeating the Crimson and Tigers in 2010 and 2011, the Bulldogs defeated Harvard 9–2 and Princeton 7–3 to win the event 16–5 overall playing a pair of rounds at Rockaway Hunting Club in Long Island on Saturday. 
  • Bulldogs Brace for H-Y-P Match

    The Yale men's golf team is set to tee off its final event of the fall season when it heads to Rockaway Hunting Club in Lawrence, N.Y. for the Harvard–Yale–Princeton match this Saturday. The one-day, 36-hole tri-match will allow the Bulldogs to take on two of their most storied rivals at the par–70, 6,452–yard couse on Long Island. 
  • Nicholas Wins Macdonald Cup as Yale Finishes 2nd

    The Yale men's golf team carded a six-over, 286 in the third and final round of the Macdonald Cup on Sunday to finish second as a team, seven strokes behind champion No. 17 Illinois. Senior captain James Nicholas picked up his second tournament victory of the season following a win at the Doc Gimmler by shooting a 15-under, 195 at The Course at Yale while senior Eoin Leonard and sophomore Teddy Zinsner each tied for 15th overall.

    Playing in its first home tournament of the season, the Yale men's golf team shot a seven-over, 565 to finish in second behind No. 17 Illinois after the first two rounds of the Macdonald Cup. Senior captain James Nicholas leads all players with his 12-under, 128 while sophomore Teddy Zinsner is tied for fourth overall following a four-under showing.

    The Yale men's golf team is home to host its first event of the 2018–19 season, the Macdonald Cup, this weekend at the Yale Golf Course. The Bulldogs, who won the event in 2017 with a score of 852, look to repeat against a field featuring Boston College, Brown, Bucknell, Colgate, Fairfield, Fordham, Harvard, No. 16 Illinois, Penn, Princeton, Sacred Heart and Stirling. 
  • Yale Finishes Sixth in North Carolina

    In the third and final round of the Old Town Club Collegiate, the Yale men's golf team shot a four-over, 284 to finish sixth at the event while sophomore Teddy Zinsner placed fifth overall in the 72-player field. Lousiville won the two-day tournament after carding a 30-under, 810 to finish one stroke ahead of second-place Wake Forest. 
  • Bulldogs in Third at Old Town Club Collegiate

    The Yale men's golf team sits in third-place among the 12-team field at the Old Town Club Collegiate following rounds of 273 and 277 to finish at 10-under on the day. Host Wake Forest is in first and leads Bulldogs by 13 shots heading into the final round of competition on Tuesday.

    Coming off second and first-place finishes, respectively, at the Doc Gimmler and Cornell Invitationals, the Yale men's golf team looks for another successful showing when it travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., for the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Yale Captures Championship at Cornell Invitational

    The Yale men's golf team held onto its 19-stroke opening day lead to win its first event of the season after carding a 13-under, 839 at the Cornell Invitational. Senior Eoin Leonard was the Bulldogs' highest finisher, tying for first overall alongside Siena's Jared Nelson, while senior captain James Nicholas and sophomore Teddy Zinsner also placed in the top-10 among the 81 individuals competing at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.

  • Yale Heads North for Cornell Invitational

    Coming off a second-place finish at the Doc Gimmler, the Yale Men's Golf Team looks to capture its first tournament victory of the season this weekend at the Cornell Invitational hosted at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. The Bulldogs, led by senior captain James Nicholas, who placed first overall at the Doc Gimmler, will take on 12 other schools including conference foes Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Penn.

    The Yale men's golf team wrapped up its regular season-opener with a two-under, 278 at the Doc Gimmler on Sunday to finish in a three-way tie for second. Among the 14 teams competing at the Bethpage Red Course, the Bulldogs shot the the lowest final-round score of the tournament to finish at four-over but Rhode Island held onto its opening day lead to win the event with a one-over, 841.

  • Nicholas Three-Peats at Borsodi Student Championship

    For the third straight season senior and captain James Nicholas won the F.A. Borsodi Student Championship after shooting a five-under, 204 at the Yale Golf Course during the 54-hole event. The reigning Ivy League Player of the Year carded rounds of 73, 63 and 68 to win by five strokes over first-year Darren Lin and sophomore Sean Yi, who tied for second after each shot an even, 209 during the Labor Day weekend.
  • Bulldogs Welcome Two Golfers for Class of 2022

    As the Yale men's golf is set to tee off its season with the F.A. Borsodi Student Championship in 26 days, the Bulldogs will add a pair of newcomers to the roster who comprise the two-member class of 2022. First-years Darren Lin and Kevin Wu replace a trio of graduated seniors and will look to sustain the Bulldogs' quest for back-to-back Ivy League Championships after winning the Ancient Eight crown in 2018.

    Coming off a 22-stroke victory in the 2018 Ivy League Championship, the Yale men's golf team will embark on a challenging 2018–19 slate as the Bulldogs look to win a second consecutive conference title and repeat for the first time since 1996 and 1997. In addition to its pair of annual invitationals held at The Course at Yale, the Elis are set to compete in eight other regular-season competitions spanning across four different states including a quartet of events in New York state.
