Yale in 4th at Doc Gimmler

Farmingdale, N.Y. – After two rounds of play at the Doc Gimmler the Yale men's golf team found itself in fourth place in the 14-team field while senior captain James Nicholas shot a three-under, 137 to finish third on the individual leaderboard.

At the event hosted by St. John's at the Bethpage Red Course, two other Bulldogs placed in the top-20 overall: sophomores Teddy Zinsner and Sean Yi. Rhode Island leads all teams with its one-under, 560 while Connecticut and Johnson & Wales (FL) sit in second and third place, respectively.

The rest of the Yale team is competing this weekend in the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate in Simsbury, Conn., at the Hop Meadow Country Club. The Elis are tied for third after one round of the two-day event with a score of 299, while senior Matt Smith had the best score of the day with a 70.
