NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Playing in its first home tournament of the season, the Yale men's golf team shot a 14-over, 546 to finish in second behind No. 17 Illinois after the first two rounds of the Macdonald Cup. Senior captain James Nicholas leads all players with his 12-under, 128 while sophomore Teddy Zinsner is tied for fourth overall following a four-under showing at the Course at Yale.

The Bulldogs are currently three shots back of the nationally-ranked Fighting Illini, who finished 11th at the NCAA Championships in May. Illinois has four players tied for seventh or better and the Elis will look to make up ground in Sunday's third and final round.

Play begins on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
