2007-08: Wescoe
had a successful sophomore season, competing in all eight
tournaments for the Bulldogs. His best finish came at the New
England Division I Championship, where he finished in second place.
Wescoe led the Bulldogs, along with first place finisher Colby
Moore, to win the tournament. His low round was a 71 at New
Englands and the Macdonald Cup. At the Ivy League Championship he
came in 11th with rounds of 72, 79 and 79. Wescoe combined with
Thomas McCarthy, Colby Moore, and Joe Hernandez to finish in second
as a team at the championship. Wescoe also led Yale at the Lacrosse
Homes Invitational with a 26th place finish. He finished the season
with a scoring average of 76.73 over 19 rounds. 2006-07: Wescoe had a great
freshman season, playing in all 10 tournaments for the Bulldogs
with five top-10 finishes. His best finish came at the CCSU
Invitational, where he tied for eighth. He finished the year with a
round average of 75.6. High School: Wescoe split his
high school career between two schools. For his freshman and
sophomore years, he played golf at Homestead High School (Mequon,
Wis.) and then after moving to La Jolla, Calif., at La Jolla High
School. During high school, he made the 2004 Wisconsin High School
Golf Association All-Academic Golf Team. He followed that up with a
2004 San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Golf Team spot. Capping
it off, he was placed on the 2004-05 Future Collegians World Tour
All-Academic Team. Wescoe also was an AP Scholar and made High
Honor Roll every semester of high school. Personal: Wescoe is a member
of Berkeley College. He is a History of Art major with a strong
interest in golf course architecture. His parents both graduated
from Kansas University, and went to Columbia for graduate school in
law and medicine. Ben has two brothers and a sister. His older
brother Max (23) attends Kansas, his younger brother Zak (18)
attends UC Santa Cruz and his sister Zoe (16) attends La Jolla High
School.
