GRASONVILLE, Md. - After day one at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational, Yale is tied for twelfth place with fellow Ivy League competitor Brown. The Bulldogs shot a team score of 318, seven strokes behind the three teams tied for ninth place -- including another Ivy school, Cornell -- and 19 strokes off the leader, UNC Greensboro.

On a day when conditions were cold and blustery, teams struggled to post low scores. Yale was able to manage only two scores in the 70s. Thomas McCarthy shot a 76 and Joe Hernandez shot a 78. Only one player in the tournament posted a round under par: John Parker McKoy of Liberty with a score of 70.

Yale's three other players, Ben Wescoe, Colby Moore and Taylor Hakes, posted scores of 80, 84 and 85 respectively. Play concludes Sunday.
