The Yale men's golf team is in fourth place out of 20 teams after the first round of the Yale Spring Opener, which the Bulldogs are hosting at the Yale Golf Course. Ivy rival Harvard leads the field with 294. Yale shot an impressive 299.

In between the two historic rivals are Johnson & Wales University (296) and the University of Connecticut (297), sitting in second and third place respectively.

Harvard's Michael Shore, who shot a two-under 68, is the individual leader after the first day.

Colby Moore and Ben Wescoe both shot 74 to lead the Bulldogs. The pair are tied for ninth place.

Captain Mark Matza (75, T14), Taylor Hakes (76, T25) and Andrew Denenberg (82, T74) rounded out Yale's top five. Yale's second team is currently in 15th place.
