Men's Golf Team Wins Dartmouth Invitational

Sept. 21, 2003

With a team score of 585, the defending Ivy League Champion men's golf team won the Dartmouth Invitational by 11 points over second-place Army and Hartford, who both finished with 596 points.

Yale sophomore Gabe Borrud shot a 71 and 72 on the par-71 course over the two days, finishing tied with Binghamton's Keith Hendrickson for the lead. The two competed in a two hole playoff, but the game had to be called because of darkness and both players were awarded a prize.

The Bulldogs held the lead in the tournament going into today, and did not let up Sunday, shooting a 296 after recording a 289 the day before.

Yale's Brian Kim finished with an overall score of 147 with rounds of 72 and 75, while Rick Reissman shot a 72 and 76 to finish with 148.

Steve Gray shot a two-round 149, and Dan Levy finished with 150 over the weekend.

Next weekend, the team will travel to Newport, R.I. for the Adams Cup before hosting the MacDonald Cup from October 10-12 at the Yale Golf Course.
