Middletown, R.I. - The Yale Men's golf team, coming off an impressive second place finish at the CCSU Invitational, struggled this week at the Adams Cup, where they finished in 12th place out of 12 teams.

The University of South Florida won the event by one stroke over the University of Hartford, despite a late charge by Hartford on the final day.

Freshman Ben Wescoe was Yale's top golfer, shooting 230 over the three-round event.

After Wescoe, Mark Matza (231, T32), Taylor Hakes (232, T37), Colby Moore (233, T40) and Joseph Potter (241, T59) competed for the Bulldogs.

Yale's total score was 926.

Yale's next event of the fall will be its own when it hosts the MacDonald Cup at the Yale Golf Course on October 7-8.
