NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Bulldogs finished up a long weekend, which featured 54 holes of golf over the course of two days, with a tie for seventh at the Macdonald Cup today at the Yale Golf Course. Mark Matza posted a 12-over total of 222 to lead the Elis, which was good for seventh overall in the tournament.
The Bulldogs as a team posted a three-round total of 925, good for a tie for seventh with Birmingham Southern. Colby Moore rebounded from a first-round 81 to fire a 71 in the second round and 74 in the third, rallying to finish fifteenth overall in the tournament.
Yale's second team, which totaled a 989 and finished 16th, was led by Joe Potter, who tied for 46th with a 241 total. Also competing on the squad was Corey Lomas (248, T66), Andrew Denenberg (252, 79), Seve Gonzales (254, 81) and Thomas Ginakakis (256, 85).
Robert Lindstrom of Birmingham Southern was the low individual with a three-round total of 215 on the Par-70 Yale Course, and Binghamton won the team title with a three-round total of 925.
