Yale Takes 8th At ECAC Championship

Charlestown, R.I. - The Yale men's golf team rebounded from a slow start in the opening round to finish in eighth place out of 14 teams at the ECAC Division I Championship this weekend. The bulldogs jumped three spots by shooting a 302 on the second day to finish with a team total of 614.

St. Bonaventure University won the event with 596. Sacred Heart University came in second with 598.

The tournament was held at the Shelter Harbor Golf Course in Charlestown, R.I.

Colby Moore was Yale's top golfer with a five-over 147 (72-75). He tied for 8th place. Thomas Mccarthy shot 154 (79-75) and tied for 28th place.

Ben Wescoe (84-73-157, T45), Taylor Hakes (79-79-158, T51) and Andrew Denenberg (82-83-165, T66) also competed for the Bulldogs.

Dartmouth, Harvard, and Brown were the other Ivy teams in the tournament. Dartmouth finished in 6th place with 609, but the Bulldogs topped their other two league opponents.

Yale returns to action on October 22 at the Barona Cup in San Diego, Calif.
