NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The men's golf team will open its spring season this Saturday at the Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational in Maryland. The two-day tournament at the Prospect Bay Country Club is hosted by Towson.
The Bulldogs are looking to improve upon last year's fourth-place finish in which they shot a 601, 21 strokes behind tournament champion St. John's. Yale is led by junior Colby Moore, who finished tied for second last year with a 143 -- one stroke off the lead. Junior Taylor Hakes, sophomore Ben Wescoe, freshman Thomas Mccarthy and senior Joseph Hernandez, who is returning to action after being out most of the fall season with an injury, round out Yale's team.
"The team just returned from an arduous two-week tour in the UK where they played five matches against British universities and five top clubs," said head coach Dave Paterson. "They are fit and eager to compete."
